Labor
Your doctor will advise you when to come to the office or the hospital after your labor pains begin. If your labor pains occur during the night or on the weekends, you will be advised to come to the Emergency Room at SJRMC, where you will be escorted to the Childbirth Center. The nurse will examine you and check your vital signs and contractions, then notify your doctor. If you have any questions or concerns, you may always contact the Childbirth Center at 609-6189 to speak to a nurse
Before contacting your family to let them know that you have been admitted, check with your doctor to see if he or she can estimate the length of your labor, or check with your labor nurse. This will help you know when to call family members.
