Admissions

Referrals may be made by physicians, case managers, social workers, or other healthcare professionals. Patients may also refer themselves.

In general, the patient must meet the following criteria to be admitted:

• Be medically stable and not ventilator dependent.
• Be free of active TB.
• Be 12 years of age or older.
• Require 24 hour nursing and 24 hour availability of a physician with special training in the field of rehabilitation.
• Require a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Need a minimum of 3 hours of therapy a day.
• Meet the expectation that rehabilitation will lead to significant practical improvement in a reasonable period of time.
