Construction Phases

Phase One of the Expansion Project includes construction of the New Tower,which is expected to be completed in Spring, 2006. Through its competitive bidding process, the county has selected Arviso-Okland, a regional contractor experienced in healthcare construction, with offices in New Mexico, Utah , Arizona and Colorado. Arviso-Okland will construct the portion of the expansion project funded by the gross receipt tax. MA Mortenson Company was chosen as the contractor management team for the SJRMC-funded portion of the project. Their role includes overseeing structural, mechanical, electrical and HVAC contractors. Both contractors will utilize local sub-contractors that have the resources to provide the services needed for a project of this scope and magnitude.

Phase Two involves renovating our existing physical plant and will immediately follow the completion of the new tower. This project will include updating existing patient rooms, and constructing a new and larger hospital kitchen and an employee cafeteria, among other improvements. Its completion date is slated for Spring 2007.
