FARMINGTON NM (March 12, 2008) San Juan Regional Medical Center has several building projects underway to accommodate their expanded cardiology services. The five story East Tower project, which was completed in August 2006, left the fifth floor as a shell to be completed at a later date. The fifth floor is now being completed to provide 24 private patient rooms and two nursing stations for occupancy as a specialized Cardiology Unit. Construction should be completed in fall 2008. Currently the Cardiology Unit is located on the second floor of the hospital and has 12 private patient rooms.
Ground will be broken on April 2 for a new Medical Office Building. The first floor of the 20,000 square foot facility will be occupied by San Juan Regional Cardiology, a physician practice, while the second floor will be occupied by Internal Medicine, another physician practice. San Juan Regional Medical Center began offering interventional cardiology late last year, and the construction will facilitate their growing cardiology services.
